Searching Nexis Uni

1. Select Advanced Search
2. Choose "News" from the drop-down menu for Select a specific content type
3. Enter 2-3 words connected with "and" in the Headline and Lead Sections
4. Limit by Date for recent years and Sort by "Date (newest-oldest)"

5. Limit by Publication Type (e.g., newspapers, newswires, transcripts, web)
6. Limit by Sources

Searching Academic Search Premier

Academic Search Premier is one of the few databases that makes it possible to limit your search to popular magazines. To do this:

1. Enter 1-3 words in the search box
2. Select Subject: Thesaurus Term to see if the words used by the database match your keywords
3. Redo your initial search using new keywords from the "Subject: Thesaurus Term" list (if necessary)
4. Limit by Source Type to "Magazines"

5. Limit by Publication Date
6. Limit by Publication
