How do I find ~ Assistive Technology Resources

Accessibility Resources

This guide should be used in conjunction with the services provided by the Dean of Student's Accessibility Office.  Elihu Root House, Home of the Dean of Students Offices

For students with disabilities and/or learning differences, participating in academics and teaching can prove challenging. Hamilton College provides numerous technology resources to help students who need accommodations.

For more information on the process of getting access to Hamilton’s resources, check out this page: More specifically, information on Hamilton’s technology resources for students seeking accommodations can be found through this link:

It is important to note that while this guide and the resources mentioned throughout will help students with disabilities and/or learning differences, other students may also find these resources useful. Within this guide are tools and advice that can be beneficial to all students who wish to explore new ways of approaching their academics and finding the best learning process that works for them.

Assistant Dean of Students for International Students and Accessibility Allen Harrison coordinates individualized accommodations and support services for any student who has a documented need. Students seeking special arrangements due to a disability should provide a recent evaluation conducted by a specialist in the appropriate field. It should include a specific diagnosis, information regarding onset, longevity and severity of symptoms, and evidence of how the disability and/or related medications and treatments interfere or limit any major life activity (participation in the courses, programs and activities of the college), and recommended accommodations. This information can be sent to the College via the disability registration form and the disability certification form.

Dean Harrison will use the information provided and consult with faculty and qualified experts as needed to help these students develop a system of support - appropriate to their needs.

Requests for academic adjustments should be made well in advance of the start of each semester (preferably by July 1st for fall enrollment and January 1st for spring enrollment).
