Similar to writing an essay, you may be asked to include a bibliography of citations for the sources you used to produce your podcast. This information may be turned in as a separate document to the professor and/or included on a website where the podcast will be published.
Depending on the subject area, you may follow existing guidelines for citation styles, to give credit to your guest speakers and audio sources. Even with copyright-free materials, giving credit is important.
Audacity is an easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, macOS, GNU/Linux and other operating systems, developed by a group of volunteers as open source.
Audacity is preferred, because the R&D Course Support for Podcasts has formed workflows and developed resources for the use of this platform.
After you’ve edited your podcast in Audacity, you can begin mixing, or making sure all of the sounds (dialogue, background music, sound effects, etc.) work together.
