This guide will serve as a jumping off point for the research you will be doing on Shostakovich's 5th Symphony. Some things to keep in mind as you research:

• Spelling! When being translated from the Russian cyrillic alphabet into English there are choices being made about what letters are most appropriate. Example: Dmitri vs Dmitry.
• You need to search in multiple places
  • Books and articles contain different kinds of information. For a comprehensive view of your topic you will most likely need to use both.
• Not everything is available online
• Not everything still exists
