Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs.
The input to photogrammetry is photographs, and the output is typically a map, a drawing, a measurement, or a 3D model of some real-world object or scene. [http://www.photogrammetry.com/index.htm]
Two general types of photogrammetry exist: aerial (with the camera in the air) and terrestrial (with the camera handheld or on a tripod). Terrestrial photogrammetry dealing with object distances up to approximately 200 meters is also termed close-range photogrammetry.
